What an incredible day it was at James Cook National Day and Racial Harmony Day 2024! We at FunCo were thrilled to bring our unique live stations to this vibrant event, adding a delicious and interactive twist to the celebration. From the frothy Teh Tarik to the nostalgic Potong Ice Cream, we had an array of treats that delighted everyone.

When it comes to local delights, Teh Tarik is a must-have. At our Teh Tarik Live Station, we didn’t just serve tea; we put on a show! Our skilled tea master entertained the crowd with his impressive tarik (pulling) skills, creating that perfect froth on top of every cup.
It wasn’t just about the taste, but the experience of watching the tea being expertly prepared, right before your eyes. Every sip was a reminder of the rich cultural tapestry that makes up our community.
Muah Chee might look simple, but it’s packed with flavour and tradition. Our Muah Chee Live Station was a hit among those with a sweet tooth. The soft, chewy morsels coated in fragrant peanut and sugar mix were served fresh, and watching them being prepared was a treat in itself.
It was heartwarming to see the younger generation get excited about this traditional snack, proving that some classics never go out of style.
Our Ding Ding Candy Live Station brought a wave of nostalgia to the event. The rhythmic sound of the candy being hammered and cut into bite-sized pieces was music to everyone’s ears. This old-school treat, with its sweet and crunchy texture, transported many of us back to our childhoods.
The crowd loved not only tasting the candy but also learning about the tradition behind this unique confectionery.
Kacang Puteh might be a simple snack, but it’s one with a lot of love. Our Kacang Puteh Live Station was a crowd favorite, offering a selection of crunchy nuts and legumes, served in paper cones just like in the good old days.
It was wonderful to see how this humble snack brought together people of all ages, sharing stories and enjoying the simple pleasure of munching on these timeless treats.
Nothing beats the heat like a refreshing Potong Ice Cream. Our Prepacked Potong Ice Cream was the perfect cool-down treat for the day. These colourful blocks of joy, with flavours ranging from red bean to durian, were a hit, especially among the older folks who reminisced about the days when this was a common treat on the streets. The prepacked convenience made it easy for everyone to enjoy, adding a sweet ending to an already fantastic day.
